This inner Melbourne terrace house has been thoughtfully renovated by Hedger Constructions, creating a fresh and light filled space. Situated on a tight urban block all available space as been optimised. Herringbone timber flooring draws the eye to the open plan kitchen, dining and living area. The inclusion of skylights bathe this space in natural light. Dark toned custom cabinetry contrasts beautifully with the brass handles and crisp white stone benchtops. At the rear of this narrow home French doors open onto a sun filled courtyard, extending indoor / outdoor living opportunities with the adjacent dining area.

St Kilda Home Extension

Located in popular St Kilda, a thoughtful extension by Hedger Constructions created a second level on the existing home, providing sought after beach views, to add value and lifestyle enjoyment. With space at a premium the property was thoroughly renovated and extended, creating a light filled open plan kitchen, dining and living area which opens onto an outdoor deck, ideal for entertaining. The original leadlight windows and fireplaces were refurbished, blending period features into a beautiful mix of traditional style with modern functionality.

Open Plan Extension

An open plan extension more than doubled the size of this residence, relocating the heart of the home to the new wing and repurposing the original home for bedrooms and private spaces. A new entrance to the property was created between the wings, with the extension including a modern kitchen, dining, lounge and main bathroom. Polished concreate floors run throughout the open plan area which is heated by an open fire. The extension also created a new master bedroom with ensuite, in addition to a double garage.

Middle Park Double Storey Extension

The original single-level cottage has been transformed into a breathtaking two-storey house with an open-plan living, dining and kitchen area. Optimising the small block, the ground level offers multiple entertaining spaces. Floor-to-ceiling sliding doors open the rear of the home to the yard and in-ground lap pool. The top level features a private main bedroom, ensuite and office space, forming a tranquil parent’s retreat. A striking window feature screen enhances the home’s privacy and contemporary aesthetic.

Award Winning Renovation

This custom renovation used natural materials including extensive stonework, and a solid timber deck with verandah. Timber framed floor to ceiling windows and glass doors add amazing light throughout. The central kitchen features a stunning tile splash back, in-cupboard lighting, and modern fittings and fixtures. With a distinctive open fireplace, the living area creates a warm and inviting space. The use of print tiles as flooring in the main bathroom also add to the personality of this home.

Award Winning Second Storey Extension

This award-winning extension added an upper floor loft area and deck to an existing 1940s home. The loft doubles as both a retreat and observatory for stargazing. The deck overlooks the established terraced garden. All work including structural engineering was scoped within the confines of the existing ground floor, which remained intact and lived in throughout the build. The amazing roof and ceiling pitch, combined with creative window design deliver a unique and functional space.

Modern Extension to Period Home

This large-scale extension added a new modern wing to a Victorian era period home. The steel framed modern addition includes floor-to-ceiling windows to immerse the home in the surrounding landscape. An expansive entertainers kitchen features a huge island bench and integrated fridge and freezer. A family dining area and living space with custom open fireplace add warmth and atmosphere. Timber flooring runs throughout for a seamless aesthetic.

Kitchen and Living Extension

This custom renovation and extension added a new open plan wing to an existing residence, which contains a kitchen, dining and living space. Timber framed French doors open onto the established garden and outdoor entertaining area. The new kitchen features an Aga cooker, angled island bench and ample preparation space. The custom fireplace and solid timber flooring are focal points of the room. The extension also included development of a new bathroom and garden pergolas.

Award Winning Suspended Slab Home Renovation

Set on a steeply block immediately above Lake Eildon, the client brief was to transform a two-storey holiday home into a permanent residence for eventual retirement. The original top storey, of approximately 120 sqm, was removed totally and replaced with a 160 sqm modern kitchen, dining and living space. The central original staircase was retained, a bedroom overlooking the lake was added, a cellar built into the hill, and an extensive timber deck were included as part of the lower-level renovation.

Cathedral Ceiling Renovation

This country holiday home was extended with the addition of a cathedral ceiling pavilion and the original home was also renovated throughout. The new wing added valuable space, with the inclusion of a living and dining area, heated by a log fire. A modern kitchen and bathroom were created and both feature corrugated icon panelling to add to the rustic feel of the home.
