Pure South Dining, situated on the river promenade of Southbank in Melbourne, was extended by Hedger Constructions with a second level. The fit-out involved demolition of both floors and development of an open plan first floor to integrate the promenade experience. The second floor provides a formal dining experience incorporating the city skyline views, whilst maintaining intimacy.

The outstanding quality of this project was recognised with an MBAV Excellence in Commercial Fit-Out Award. 

The new Alexandra Police station is a state-of-the-art facility, delivered by Hedger Constructions. The Hedger team were tasked with material sourcing and full construction of administration areas, holding cells and operational spaces. The outcome is a reliable and durable building with a modern design that provides a strong visual presence in the town.

This award-winning community hall was constructed with a very high rating of bushfire protection. To meet bushfire requirements, the external of the building features floor to ceiling double glazed widows that are wrapped in bronze fire-resistant screens. Internally, a messmate flooring and ceiling create dramatic affect. Laminated Blackbutt vertical fins curve through the building to create a series of smaller internal spaces. Further functionality is provided with a commercial kitchen and BBQ facility.

The Country Club Hotel has been a Yea institution since it first opened its doors in 1858. When fire gutted the venue in 2015, Hedger Constructions were engaged to undertake an extensive renovation to return the hotel to its former glory. The renovation brought modern styling and functionality to the venue, while retaining its historic charm. Heritage stone work was refurbished, a new commercial kitchen installed and a full venue fit-out undertaken.

Holmesglen at Eildon is a purpose-built conference, function and event centre affiliated with the Holmesglen Institute and located in regional Victoria. With a desire to attract more corporate bookings, Hedger Constructions was engaged to develop corporate accommodation for the facility. The 4-star corporate suites feature modern amenities including meeting rooms, private ensuites, and balconies which provide amazing rural views from every room.

Established in 1866, the Corner Hotel in Alexandra, Victoria is a local institution. Under heritage guidance, Hedger Constructions provided a full renovation and hospitality fit-out to the venue, transforming it into a modern and vibrant hotel with a great country pub feel, whilst honouring its rich history. The project involved renovation of dining rooms, bars and the commercial kitchen whist retaining the original 1870s staircase and other original mid-Victorian features.

The Yea Primary School construction project involved development of new open plan class rooms and collaborative spaces to meet the needs of the growing rural school. New bathroom facilities were also developed. The modern design is light filled via clerestory windows and has excellent airflow with a practical layout that provides immersive learning experiences.

The St Mary’s Primary School extension involved the construction of a new gymnasium and multi-purpose hall, as well as a modern library, art room and home economics room. This project significantly increased the size and quality of school facilities, and was built in accordance to Education Department guidelines and strict industry standards.

The Outdoor Education Group (OEG) is Australia’s largest outdoor education provider, with locations throughout every state to help make outdoor experiences accessible to all young Australians. Hedger Constructions was proud to build a camp headquarters for OEG in Victoria’s High Country. The butterfly skillion roof design is constructed of timber and corrugated iron to create a rustic atmosphere, in situ with its natural surrounds.

This property has the dual purpose of being a country retreat for the clients and as bed & breakfast accommodation for guests. The design maximises the setting and surrounds to allow for flexibility in use. The property features a family friendly recreation area with a fireman’s pole, climbing wall and in-ground trampoline. The multi-purpose room was designed to provide yoga classes for guests. Sustainability was a key component of the client brief and an 8.4 energy efficiency rating was achieved.

The Marysville and District Community Men’s Shed was built with community support following the devastating Black Saturday bushfires in 2009. Designed to be a place where men can get together, it has been built is a multi-purpose space, well equipped with tools, kitchen, dining room, locker room and outdoor area. This flexible community space provides the ideal environment for men to join in activities, talk about what’s on their mind and support each other.

Inspired by the traditional homes of Marysville and surrounds, this period style home was developed as short-term self-contained accommodation for families holidaying in the area. With low-maintenance essential, the property combines Victorian yesteryear character with modern conveniences. A spacious alfresco deck also provides visitors with stunning mountain views.

The Maroondah Retirement Village (MRV) is a charming community of 30 units in the heart of Healesville. Developed by Hedger Constructions, each independent living unit features light-filled sunrooms, open living and dining, modern kitchen and appliances, and efficient heating and cooling. With a shared social space, including library, and beautiful landscaped gardens, MRV is a supportive environment for older members of the community.

Kellock Lodge is a residential aged care facility in Alexandra, Victoria which provides 50 high-care nursing home beds in addition to independent living units. Each of the brick independent living units has been designed to maximise accessibility for limited mobility residents. The modern, low maintenance design and proximity to the nursing home and town ensure support is available as required for residents.

As a growing regional centre, Alexandra has seen significant demand for housing. This boutique commercial unit development created secure, low maintenance, free-standing residences with off-street parking.
