MBAV Victorian Regional Builder of the Year 2008

MBAV Regional Builder of the Year – Northeast Section 2008

MBAV Best Custom Home over $500k 2008

PROJECT DETAILS

Substantial excavation and an outstanding design were called for to meet the site challenges of building a three bedroom home on a one-in-two slope. Huge steel columns were built to an exact millimeter to support the suspended slab at the front. They stand as a work of art. Timber and aluminum extruded panels makes a unique framing system for the double-glazed windows and doors. The excavated embankments are safety stabilised with shotcrete.

The owners wanted a low-maintenance residence that could comfortably accommodate guests and grandchildren. Each bedroom has a spacious en suite bathroom and walk-in wardrobes. All rooms offer scenic views of the countryside and an expansive terrace is perfect for alfresco dining.

The home is air-conditioned with an in-slab gas boiler-fired coil hot water system to meet the owners requests for unobtrusive heating. Water purity and conservation was also a priority for the owners and the property was fitted with a specially designed collection, storage and filtration system.

A state of the art kitchen was a top priority for the chef owners, with Gaggenau appliances and a pantry almost the size of a small apartment, it’s an enviable feature of this stunning home.
