Contract Administrator:  Full Time Role

Location: Richmond, Victoria.

We are seeking a Contract Administrator to assist our growing company and become a valued member of our construction family.

The Contract Administrator is responsible for preparing and managing contracts, subcontracts, and supply orders. The primary duties include ensuring head contracts are correctly executed, supporting project teams in organising and administering contracts, and providing advice on contract negotiations. Additionally, the role involves reporting the financial and contractual status of ongoing projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and administer head contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders in collaboration with the Finance Manager.
  • Manage progress claims, client invoices, and monitor debtors to ensure timely payments.
  • Maintain variations registers, monitor costs, and provide accurate cost forecasts in conjunction with the Project Manager and Finance team.
  • Submit financial reports, including Profit & Loss and project cost reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to timelines.
  • Handle contractual communication, including RFIs and EOTs with clients, architects, and consultants.
  • Mentor and delegate tasks to junior staff while overseeing job cost coding and progress claims.
  • Collaborate with Finance to track work-in-progress (WIP) and profitability for each project.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in Contract Administration, Construction Management, or related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in the construction industry (domestic or commercial).
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • High attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Financial acumen to manage budgets and monitor project costs.
  • Experience in mentoring junior staff is a plus.

Business Administration Senior or Traineeship Position:  Full Time Role

Location: Alexandra, Victoria.

This position requires a strong attention to detail and problem solving capacity; competency in navigating various computer programs, including Excel spreadsheets (training can be provided); a positive and professional customer service orientation with clients, staff and trades whether in person, via email or phone; and to be motivated and enthusiastic to learn and assist in building teams with administration staff and the wider Hedger organisation.

  • Mailing, filing and scanning invoices and important documents to support management, clients, staff and suppliers
  • Responding to daily client enquiries in a face-to-face, email and telephone capacity
  • Processing day-to-day business activities in Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Assisting other staff with day-to-day requests
  • Booking and prepping presentation and client documents for meetings and handovers
  • Filing weekly reports
  • Stock and Equipment tracking

Senior Carpenter / Leading Hand:  Full Time Role

Location: North East Regional Victoria, Melbourne and the Surf Coast Region

We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled Senior Carpenter / Leading Hand to join our growing team. Working on sites throughout the North East regional Victoria, Melbourne and the Surf Coast, you will have eye for detail and exceptional carpentry skills.

Ideally, we are looking for established, skilled carpenters. You may have been self employed and/or worked with other builders and are looking for the right company to deal with the management and paperwork whilst you do the building.

In this role a minimum of 4 years experience is preferred, working on wide variety of complex architectural designs without close supervision.

Salary negotiable for experience level and Relocation Packages available for discussion.

Carpenters and Apprentices Required: Full Time Roles

Location: North East Regional Victoria, Melbourne and the Surf Coast Region

Hedger Constructions are Victoria’s multi-award-winning custom home builders, with an expanding client base covering North East Regional Victoria, Melbourne and the Surf Coast Region. We are currently seeking motivated workers across these locations for Carpentry and Apprentice Positions.

Successful applicants need to be passionate about the building industry; have the ability to communicate well in a team; work from instructions as directed; follow OHS directives; coordinate work in a team environment or work individually under supervision; and demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop their skills.

Apprentice applicants must have completed minimum year 10 secondary schooling.
Hours are Monday to Friday 7am – 3.30pm and Saturdays as required.
