State Apprentice Award Winner for 2017

Hedger Constructions, Steven and Sharon Hedger along with painting supervisor Rodney Hedger, attended the Victory Room at Etihad Stadium Friday 12th May to share in the exciting announcement that apprentice painter Michael Miller had become the winner of the State Employer Nominated Apprentice Award for 2017.

In front of accompanying family and friends, Michael was selected from 21 other statewide regional winners. This is a well-deserved reward for Michael’s hard work and dedication over the past 4 years. Michael commenced with Hedger Constructions as a mature aged apprentice and completed his painting and decorating apprenticeship on May 1st this year. Completing his schooling modules off campus, Michael was supported by the Murray Mallee Training Company throughout his apprenticeship. Michael had to submit a portfolio of his work and attend numerous interviews as part of the award process.

Hedger Constructions did not hesitate to nominate Michael for this prestigious award given his commitment to his trade, his determination to learning all aspects of his craft and the quality of his workmanship. Michael has been a terrific representative of the company with clients and his involvement in sports coaching of junior teams makes him a valuable member of the local community.

Congratulations should also go to Rodney Hedger in his mentoring role for Michael along with other local paint tradesman who have passed on valuable knowledge to Michael whilst working on Hedger Constructions sites.

The team at Hedger Constructions wishes Michael well in his continuing role with the company.
